These Terms govern your use of the Turbomachinery.ai website, tools, calculators, checklists, digital resources, paid services, affiliated services, and related content and functionality. Please read them carefully before using any of the Services.
Effective date: May 09, 2026. Last updated: 2026-05-09.
1. Scope
These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", the "User") and Turbomachinery.ai ("we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of:
the Turbomachinery.ai website and any subdomains;
the tools, calculators, checklists, templates, technical references, and digital resources made available through it;
any paid services, subscriptions, digital products, downloadable reports, training materials, technical support, and consulting offerings;
affiliated services and any related content, features, or functionality (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using any part of the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
2. Professional Use Only
The Services are intended for use by skilled, qualified, and experienced rotating-equipment, mechanical, reliability, maintenance, commissioning, alignment, and related technical, field, and operations professionals acting within their area of competence and authority. The Services are not intended for, and must not be relied upon by, untrained users, students, the general public, or anyone outside their professional scope.
By using the Services you represent that (a) you are a qualified professional acting in a professional capacity, and (b) you are authorized to use information of this kind for the work you intend to perform.
3. Nature of the Tools
The tools, calculators, checklists, templates, references, and other digital resources provided through the Services are intended only as professional support aids aligned with applicable industrial standards and best practices. They are designed to assist a competent professional with framing, sanity-checking, organizing, or accelerating technical and field tasks. They are not engineering deliverables and do not, and cannot, replace:
applicable industry, national, or international standards;
OEM (original equipment manufacturer) manuals, requirements, instructions, or technical bulletins;
approved technical, operating, maintenance, commissioning, or safety procedures;
project-specific specifications, drawings, datasheets, or scope documents;
site safety rules, permit-to-work systems, or HSE / EHS requirements;
regulatory, statutory, or jurisdictional requirements;
company policies, management-system requirements, or quality procedures;
client requirements, contract terms, or owner specifications;
the independent professional judgment of a qualified engineer, technician, inspector, supervisor, or other competent person responsible for the work.
Where any output of the Services conflicts with any of the above, the above always takes precedence.
4. What We Do and Do Not Provide
What we provide. Turbomachinery.ai provides turbomachinery professional and consulting services, technical references, tools, calculators, checklists, templates, training materials, and field/technical support intended for qualified professionals. The Services are aligned with applicable industrial standards and best practices, but alignment does not constitute compliance certification, conformity assessment, or approval of any kind.
What we do not provide. Turbomachinery.ai does not provide engineering services, professional engineering deliverables, engineering certification, professional engineering (PE / P.Eng. / CEng / EUR ING or equivalent) sign-off, stamping, or seal, safety approval, regulatory approval, or any other licensed, accredited, or authorized professional approval. Nothing on the Services constitutes, and the Services must not be relied upon as:
engineering services, an engineering deliverable, or the practice of engineering in any jurisdiction;
engineering certification, professional engineering sign-off, stamping, or seal;
legal advice or a legal opinion;
safety approval, hazard clearance, or risk-acceptance;
commissioning, start-up, or readiness-for-service approval;
inspection approval, fit-for-service determination, or release;
operational authorization, permit-to-operate, or permit-to-work;
regulatory approval, conformity assessment, or certification of compliance.
Use of the Services does not create an engineer-of-record, engineer-of-design, certifying-authority, inspector, advisor, consultant (beyond any separately agreed consulting engagement), or fiduciary relationship between us and you, your employer, or any third party. You, your employer, or your client remain responsible for determining whether a licensed professional engineer or other authorized professional is required for any given task, and for engaging that professional separately.
5. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the independent review, verification, validation, approval, and safe use of any output, value, recommendation, checklist item, document, or other result obtained from the Services. Without limitation, you are solely responsible for:
checking inputs, assumptions, units, ranges, and tolerances against the actual equipment, project, and conditions;
cross-checking outputs against applicable standards, OEM data, and project documentation;
obtaining all required technical, safety, quality, regulatory, and management approvals — including any required licensed professional engineer or other authorized professional sign-off — before any field, commissioning, maintenance, or operational action;
ensuring that any decision, instruction, or action taken on site is competent, authorized, and safe;
determining whether a licensed professional engineer, inspector, or other authorized professional is required for any given task in your jurisdiction or under your project requirements, and engaging that professional separately;
complying with all applicable laws, standards, and contractual obligations.
You accept that any decision or action you take using the Services — including any technical, safety, commercial, field, commissioning, maintenance, alignment, repair, or operational decision — is your responsibility.
6. Paid Services
We may offer paid services, including but not limited to:
subscriptions and recurring access plans;
digital products, downloadable reports, datasets, and templates;
technical tools, calculators, and software features behind a paywall;
turbomachinery professional and consulting support, custom analysis, remote assistance, and technical review;
training materials, courses, and reference content;
other commercial services made available from time to time (collectively, "Paid Services").
Payment for any Paid Service entitles you to access to that Paid Service in accordance with these Terms and any applicable service-specific terms. Payment does not constitute, guarantee, or imply any specific technical, commercial, project, performance, schedule, or business outcome. Outcomes always depend on factors outside our control, including data quality, equipment condition, site conditions, and decisions made by you and other parties.
Pricing, fees, billing, payment methods, renewal, cancellation, refund eligibility, access duration, usage limits, and similar commercial terms may be set out in service-specific terms, an order form, a checkout page, or a written agreement, which form part of these Terms with respect to that Paid Service. Where service-specific terms conflict with these general Terms, the service-specific terms prevail for that Paid Service.
Alignment Assistant subscription.
Calculations in the Alignment Assistant are offered on a recurring monthly subscription — $30/month (about $1/day), billed monthly until canceled. Browsing the Alignment Assistant interface is open, but the calculate actions require an active subscription. The subscription renews automatically each month at the per-day rate prevailing at the time of renewal, until you cancel through the billing portal. The Unit Conversion, Technical Documentation, and Flange Parallelism tools remain freely available and are not gated by the subscription. The subscription is offered as a more competitively priced alternative to a full consultation fee for equivalent guidance; it does not constitute a consultation, a deliverable, or a substitute for one. The subscription does not create an engineer-of-record, certifying-authority, advisor, consultant, or fiduciary relationship between us and you, and does not substitute for applicable standards, OEM requirements, approved procedures, project specifications, safety requirements, or qualified professional judgment. Outputs from these assistants must be independently reviewed and verified before use, and we make no guarantee of any specific technical, commercial, project, performance, or business outcome.
7. Paid Service Limitations
Paid access to a tool, calculator, dataset, report, training material, or other Paid Service does not change the nature of that resource. Paid access does not:
turn a tool, calculator, or checklist into a certified engineering tool, a professional engineering deliverable, or a substitute for licensed engineering services;
turn the Services into an OEM-approved tool or an OEM-equivalent reference;
turn the Services into a standards-compliant tool, a code-compliance tool, or a substitute for the underlying standard;
turn the Services into a regulated, accredited, or audited compliance tool;
create any warranty of suitability, accuracy, or fitness beyond what is expressly stated in writing;
shift any technical, safety, regulatory, or professional engineering responsibility from you (or your employer or client) to us.
All limitations, disclaimers, and user-responsibility provisions in these Terms apply equally to free and Paid Services.
8. Accounts & Access Restrictions
Some Services may require you to create an account, log in, or otherwise authenticate. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be responsible for activity carried out under your account. You must notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use.
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
access any non-public area of the Services or any other user's account;
circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, access-control, paywall, or rate-limiting features;
scrape, harvest, mass-download, or systematically extract content from the Services;
reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code or proprietary logic, except where this restriction is prohibited by mandatory law;
use the Services to develop a competing product or to train machine-learning models without our prior written consent;
use the Services in a way that violates applicable law, infringes any third-party right, or could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Services.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to all or part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, for suspected or actual breach of these Terms, for legal or security reasons, or for ongoing maintenance.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, software, code, layout, design, text, graphics, calculator logic, checklists, templates, datasets, training materials, branding, and other materials made available through the Services, and all related intellectual property rights, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your own internal professional use. No other rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly display, publicly perform, or create derivative works from the Services or their content, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by mandatory law. Trademarks, logos, and brand elements may not be used without our prior written consent.
10. Third-Party Services & Affiliates
The Services may link to, embed, integrate with, or rely on third-party websites, applications, APIs, content, products, or services ("Third-Party Services"), and may make reference to affiliated parties or partners. We do not control Third-Party Services and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, security, terms, privacy practices, or outcomes.
Your use of any Third-Party Service is solely between you and the relevant third party and is subject to that third party's terms and privacy policy. Mention of, or a link to, any third party or affiliate does not constitute endorsement, certification, approval, or guarantee of that party or its products.
11. Cookies, Tracking & Commercial Use
The Services use cookies, similar storage technologies, and short-lived tokens for site operation, security, authentication, and to verify and preserve access to Paid Services after payment. Optional categories (preferences, analytics, marketing) are loaded only with your prior consent. Full details are in our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
Where cookies or tokens support commercial use of the Services — for example, verifying that a Paid Service subscription is active, maintaining a paid session, or recording transaction status — those cookies or tokens are strictly necessary for that Paid Service and cannot be disabled without losing access to it.
If you decline non-essential cookies, the main page remains available, but the tools and Paid Services will not be available, as further described in the Privacy & Cookie Policy.
12. No Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and all content, tools, calculators, checklists, datasets, reports, training materials, recommendations, and outputs are provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
We disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, all warranties and conditions, including warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, non-infringement, title, security, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and any warranty arising from course of dealing, course of performance, or trade usage.
We do not warrant that any output of the Services will be correct for your specific equipment, project, site, or operating context, will meet any standard or specification, or will achieve any particular result. You assume all risk for your use of the Services and any reliance you place on them.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we, our affiliates, our licensors, our service providers, or any of our or their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, or contractors be liable to you or to any third party for any:
indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages;
loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, contracts, opportunities, production, or anticipated savings;
loss, corruption, or inaccuracy of data, inputs, outputs, results, files, or records;
cost of substitute goods, services, or technology;
damage to equipment, property, processes, or personnel;
any damages arising from any technical, safety, commercial, field, commissioning, maintenance, alignment, repair, or operational decision made in connection with the Services,
whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount actually paid by you to us for the specific Paid Service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our affiliates, our licensors, our service providers, and our and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, and contractors from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
your use of, or inability to use, the Services;
any decision, action, or inaction taken by you or any party relying on you in connection with the Services;
your breach of these Terms or any service-specific terms;
your violation of any applicable law, standard, regulation, or third-party right;
any content, data, or input you provide to the Services.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, our business, applicable law, or for other reasons. When we update these Terms, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention before they take effect, for example through an in-product notice.
Your continued use of the Services after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.
